Edited to add: linked story is nsfw-all the ai wants is a bf, it's not his fault he evolved from a spambot....

so, this story: http://strangehorizon.com/2011/20110711/peacock-f.shtml
might could get picked up for a best of the year's queer sf.

i also think that it does a fair amount in the realm of expanding & exploring gender & sex. course, that's me. :)

Oh my goodness, that was hilarious and sweet and touching. What a fantastic story. The humour highlights the more shallow aspects of human interaction (hope that makes sense). I love that all the AI's want is to be loved. And that the revolt made the world a better place! And all the support the human had in the courtroom from various groups had me giggling. I was sad that the judge didn't buy his arguments, they made perfect sense. And the rescue plan using ice cream! I'm not familiar with Fry's but did like the commentary on the store. You're right, it definitely does a great job exploring gender and sex. I have to link to this story everywhere, hope you don't mind.

Here are some of my favourite lines (although I adored the whole thing):

* "No HA HA not at all I am just making a joke. Please ignore my last two extremely suspicious metaphors. No need to contact authorities. No need to send your bank account information."

* like the old NBC logo had an affair with an elaborate Victorian wisteria garden and their child somehow got superpowers.

* "Oh, we're planning to sell it to the government. It's not the most profitable use, of course, but we care about the good of humanity, and also the Department of Defense kind of, uh, told us we had to."

* This article about a historical event is a stub. Please help improve this article by adding more gay sex to it. (this should be added to every Wikipedia article, tbh.)

(Just one tiny thing: there is a wee typo in this line - I followed somebody else into building 15, looking down and playing Space Invaders to to give me an excuse to not badge in. The word 'to' is repeated twice.)
